Why Go to the Boat Show

Why Go to the Progressive® Insurance Louisville Boat, RV & Sportshow

By Brian Souders, Progressive® Insurance Louisville Boat, RV &Sportshow

You’ve seen the billboards and ads across town and on your phone. You may have even caught yourself singing along with the “Come on Down to the Sportshow!” jingle watching your favorite TV show.

If you are still up in the air about joining us at the 2020 Progressive Insurance Louisville Boat, RV & Sportshow, January 22–26 at the Kentucky Exposition Center, here are eight reasons why you should “Come on down to the Sportshow…”

The ‘Great Outdoors’ under one roof
We have one of the most amazing shows in the U.S. because it encompasses everything needed to outfit your boating and outdoors lifestyle. We not only have a great selection of powerboats, but we also have RVs, ATV/side-by-sides, golf carts, accessories, and even marinas resorts and campgrounds. Not to mention all the seminars and clinics and interactive features.

Check out amazing RVs
An entire section of the show is dedicated to getting on the road—263 RVs, campers, fifth wheels, motorhomes, and trailers. Exhibitors also offer great RVing accessories and educational seminars, too. You can see a list of exhibitors here.

Check out amazing boats
If you love getting on the water, the Louisville Show is just heaven. We have more than 340 boats on display, of almost every type and brand. We’re talking luxury cabin cruisers, family-friendly pontoons, ripping wake boats, even stand-up paddleboards. It’s fun to see all the cool innovations and eye-popping designs, all under one roof. Here’s the list of all the boat brands you can see at the show.

Purchase the boat or RV of your dreams right on the show floor
Unlike auto and most powersports shows, you can actually buy boats and RVs right at the event, from bass boats to pop-up campers and kayaks. Shows like ours are great because you can shop and compare several dealers and several boat types/brands side by side, all in one place. Plus, boat, engine and RV manufacturers often offer incentives in order to book sales well before the high season. Here are some more specific tips on shopping/buying at the show

The Progressive Insurance Louisville Boat, RV & Sportshow offers lots of opportunities to become a better boater, angler and RVer. America’s Boating Club offers mini boating seminars—and you can test your boat handling skills on their boating simulator. Catch a terrific lineup fishing seminars at the Hawg Trough fish tank and watch pro anglers demonstrate the tricks they use to catch more fish. There’s even a free Boating Safety Certification Course offered by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) on Sunday. Click for a schedule of educational offerings.

Get accessorized
Shows are also great places to find the latest gear to upgrade your current watercraft or RV. More than 170 vendors offer accessories or lifestyle items to enhance your time on the water and on the road: personal flotation devices, marine electronics, custom paint, lighting, fishing tackle and more. If it’s for your boat or RV, someone’s likely selling it. Browse all exhibitors here.

It gets the kids out of the house!
At this time of year, we all want to get out of the house with family so we make the Louisville Show a great time for kids. Kids love exploring all the different kinds of boats and RVs, of course (be sure to keep them close to keep them safe). But you’ll find tons of other kids activities, such as crafts, superhero appearances and even actual trout fishing! Full list of kids activities is here.
